Meet the characters of A Cop's Nightmare

Morgan Blackwell:
Five feet eleven inches tall and about 185 pounds of lean. Light brown crew cut hair, moustache and goatee that he grew after leaving the police department. Morgan's eyes are dark brown and sometimes seem black to those looking at him. Upon graduating from high school Morgan enlisted in the Army as a Military Policeman where he first began to learn the skills that would serve him through his police career - and on into his battles against the evil of vampires and vampire clones. Not entirely dependent on his physical attributes and skills to fight the enemies of mankind and of the Church, Morgan demonstrated his intelligence by scoring high on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery and then again by graduating #1 in his police academy class.

Chuck Bendetti:
Six feet tall and a strong 200 pounds. Chuck's razor cut sandy blond hair looked good on the beaches when he was training as a Navy Underwater Demolitions operator. Clean shaven with a strong jaw and brown eyes, Chuck's upper body strength isn't apparent until it's demonstrated. Upon being honorably discharged from the Navy, Chuck joined the Los Angeles Police Department and eventually earned a spot in their elite SWAT unit. When his friend Morgan called and the reality of what they were fighting hit home, Chuck left the LAPD to join the team fighting against vampires and vampire clones.

Karl Mitchell:
Standing six feet two inches tall but weighing a rail thin 175 pounds, Karl's strength doesn't come from his musculature but from his vampire heritage. Having hidden the fact of being a vampire from his friends for years, he finally reveals the secret when circumstances demand it to save Morgan's and Chuck's lives. Having served in various branches of the military throughout the dozens of decades of his life, his most recent service was as a Marine. Thanks to the reality of being a vampire, and his first hand knowledge of the past century (+) of United States history, Karl brings a unique strength and stability to the team.

Don Christianson:
Don is the least likely warrior of the group. He's never served in the military. He was never a cop. In fact, Don dropped out of high school and earned his living as a locksmith. Only the strength of his friendship with Morgan called him into the team's service. Knowledgeable about weapons as a sidelight of his hobbies, Don can hold his own in a fight but doesn't have the same level of tactical knowledge or skill that the other team members have. This sets him apart somewhat and causes some tension in the team. About five feet six inches tall, and built like a fireplug at 225 pounds, Don's strength isn't apparent because he looks soft... but looks can be deceiving.

Lara Greskov:
Oh delicious scariness... Lara is both a vampire and a witch. She's also an exceedingly attractive raven haired beauty. Standing about five feet six inches tall and weighing 130 pounds, her curves are muscular without being unfeminine. Skilled as a witch - in fact, trained by the mother of all witches - Lara is also highly intelligent and destined become part of the team. Her dark hair grows down past her shoulders, but her ice-gray eyes often calls attention away from other aspects of her beauty. Across the span of the decades of her life she has served in the Air Force and the Secret Service. Her weapon skills match those of every other member of the team... The only hint of anything being wrong with her is that she's attracted to Karl.

Michael (Mike) Rakkie:
At six feet four inches in height and 280 pounds of muscle, Mike is by far the largest member of the team. Not usually a working team member, Mike was assigned to protect Morgan's family and to serve as house security for the team's quarters in the mountains of West Virginia. With crew-cut blond hair and blue eyes, Mike often finds himself competing with Chuck to see which of them is stronger. Mike's background includes time spent as a commissioned officer in the Marine Corps, former SWAT officer in Washington, DC, and a former vampire hunter for the Church. His natural ability with dogs becomes quickly apparent when he takes over all training for them - and finds another area where he competes with Chuck.

Father Tom Bastone:
A Catholic Priest, Father Bastone was Morgan's senior religion teacher in high school. As life progressed, Father Bastone found himself serving inmates at a state penitentiary and it was there that he found out - through a confession from one of the inmates - about an on-going program sponsored by the Church and government to reanimate the dead. What the inmate didn't know, and Father Bastone could scarcely imagine, was that reanimating the dead didn't literally mean bringing the dead back to life; instead it involved using Vampire DNA to alter the bodies making them harder to kill, more aggressive, less moral, etc. This program eventually morphed into the modern day program of cloning Vampires to be used as preprogrammed battelfield soldiers. Once aware of such a program, and finding himself targeted for assassination because of the knowledge, Father Bastone seeks out his friend, Morgan, hoping that the police officer can offer him some protection. Father Bastone goes on to become the spiritual counselor to the team as they fight Vampires and Vampire clones who seek to destroy humanity.

Jonathon Sheighan:
When Mike Rakkie was called away to serve as the team's head of security, Jonathon Sheighan was selected to be Mike's replacement on the DC Police Department. With almost twenty years of service, Sheighan is working as a detective for the PD while also serving as the Church's go-between with the team. Thanks to the infiltration of the Washington DC Police Department by both Vampires and the Church, Sheighan's duties for the Church never conflict with his assignments from the PD. For some reason, Sheighan seems to resent the team's existance but always carries out his orders in a professional fashion none the less.

Donna Blackwell:
Morgan's wife, and far from the "average" soccer mom. Dragged along into the battle against Vampires and Vampire clones by virtue of her marriage to Morgan, Donna really had no choice but to become a home-school teacher for Nico (see below) and one of his body-guards. Although Mike Rakkie serves as something of a butler, Donna bears a large portion of keeping the house clean and making sure the refrigerator and pantry are stocked. Taking regular shooting lessons from Mike, Donna also pursues tactical and strategic lessons from the various team members. Father Bastone serves as her "check up from the neck up" to make sure she's keeping life's challenges in proper perspective. Through book two she's pregnant - and everyone is expecting a girl child. Of course, expectations change...

Nicolas (Nico) Blackwell:
Son of Morgan and Donna, Nico thinks it's just entirely cool to be schooled at home; have shooting ranges on his farm; and loves to play with the dogs of the house. He regularly wrestles with his dad, "Uncle" Chuck, "Uncle" Joe and/or Mike. Weekends often find him on the ranges shooting his custom made rifle or pistol. Given that his young life has already been impacted by the reality of Vampires and Vampire clones, Nico is an amazingly well adjusted kid.
